Secaucus NJ – The kosher food industry continues to surpass all projections with an 8%-10% growth in 2015, by far exceeding the average 3% growth of the food industry as a whole,” said Menachem Lubinsky, founder and co-producer of Kosherfest in his keynote address. Kosher food sales have benefitted from a strong market in the New York-New Jersey area which is said to account for nearly half of all kosher food sales in the US. The news set the stage for a highly-successful 28th edition of the annual kosher food show on November 15-16 at the Meadowlands Exposition Center where more than 6000 visitors from as many as 30 states and 21 countries attended. “Innovation has become a keyword in kosher,” said Mr. Lubinsky, a reflection of the 90 new exhibitors at Kosherfest, the impressive upgrade of the booths, and the more than 300 new products that were showcased at the show. Prior to the Keynote address on Tuesday morning (November 15th), the winners of the New Product Competition received their awards with Parvella from Italy winning the Best in Show award. The winning products further proved the innovative state of the industry. With more than 200,000 products now carrying a kosher symbol, Kosher is now everywhere and thanks to the digital age, it also no longer has borders.
